About Libby Parks, LCSW

My approach to therapy is one of curiosity, empathy, and respect. I have experienced countless times the power that an authentic and safe relationship can have on therapeutic work. I strive to provide you, or your loved one, with the confidence and tools to explore what may be getting in the way of achieving certain goals or to continue the process of healing that has already begun.

I treat individuals with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image issues, and related conditions in adolescents through adults. I have a particular interest in treating trauma-related conditions in adults through Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I have additional experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E). But above all, I use a humanistic and strengths-based perspective with my clients and tailor my skills to meet an individual or family’s needs.

In my professional career treating eating disorders, I have worked as a Primary Therapist in the residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. I am also currently a social worker at the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders and Severe Malnutrition, a medical stabilization unit in Denver, CO. My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in psychology from Dickinson College in PA and a Master of Social Work degree from New York University.

I have always held service to others as a high value of mine. Whether this be through my professional pursuits, volunteering, or being an active part of my community, I find deep satisfaction and inspiration through helping others reach their full potential. Other things that bring me great joy are being in the mountains, yoga and meditation, art, and spending time with friends and family.
